Seeking an Experienced Pipe Layer to Join Our Team:
As an experienced, full-time Pipe Layer, you will work with one of our underground utility crews to install water, sewer, storm drain lines, and related components. The ideal candidate is a focused and hard working individual who takes pride in their work and is able to see the details. Being timely and willing to develop your skills are essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
• Experienced with sewer line installation, pressurized water lines, septic tanks, and grease traps
• Use instruments such as lasers, grade rods, and transit levels
• Identify utility lines
• Dig ditches and trenches
• Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools
• Set final trench grade
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints
• Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities
• Backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications
• Perform sewer manhole installations to include proper joint installation & joint wrap, setting & securing a manhole frame & cover
• Able to use tools like tamping machines and other hand tools
Requirements:
• Able to follow instructions
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
• Able to work in hot/cold changing environments
• Able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs., push, pull, sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, stoop, crouch, squat, and kneel throughout the workday.
• Able to navigate construction job site terrain
• Able to use a smartphone and related applications
