Seeking an Experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to Join Our Team:
As an experienced, full-time Heavy Equipment Operator, you will work with one of our underground utility or grading crews to install water, sewer, stormwater lines, and related components or mass grading of the earth to plans and specifications. The ideal candidate is a focused and hard-working individual who takes pride in their work and is able to see the details. Being timely and willing to develop your skills are essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
• Follow safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies, and site-specific safety plans perform routine inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
• Read and understand drawings and specifications
• Perform standard site calculations to measure and record daily productivity
• Identify/locate utilities and buried lines/structures
• Understands sloping, banking, backfilling, and stockpiling best practices
• Uses onboard GPS Topcon systems to increase production efficiency
• Interacts/instructs general laborers and other crew members
• Maintains a clean and orderly job site
• Identify different soil types and adjust work performance based on circumstances
• Able to identify ground disturbances and safely mitigate
• Work independently with minimal supervision and maintain the flow of work
• Maintains continuous communication with crew members
• Understanding of underground utility installation
• Operate GPS Controlled equipment to excavate, move, and grade earth to plan and specifications
• Accurately grade surfaces to specified contours and elevations
Requirements:
• Must be able to perform each above responsibility satisfactorily
• A high school diploma or (GED) is preferred
• Minimum of 2-years of experience operating heavy equipment
• Ability to provide professional references of supervisors who can confirm your ability to use heavy equipment
• Able to lift/carry up to 70 lbs., push, pull, sit, stand, walk, crawl, bend, stoop, crouch, squat, and kneel throughout the workday.
• Able to use a smartphone and related applications
• Valid driver’s license without any significant infractions
• Able to pass a drug test and background screening
• Reliable transportation that you can use to travel to job sites
• Able to work in hot/cold changing environments
